How to Fix Issues with the COMAND System
The most common solution to fix any of these issues is to try to perform a soft reset of the COMAND unit. For you to do that, you will need to remove the fuses for the CD Changer, COMAND/ NAV / DVD Player / Radio, Audio Gateway AGW, and the Voice Unit if it is equipped with one, for at least 10 minutes. Doing a soft reset for these systems will force the head unit to rest. This normally restores the systems to working order. Chances are the symptoms may return. If this happens repeatedly, a professional Mercedes Benz repair technician or mechanic can help check any updates for your COMAND / navigation unit.
How to perform a soft reset of the COMAND / NAV Radio System
- Find the fuse box under the dashboard. Pry the side cover, look for fuse 26 and 28 and remove both fuses.
- The second fuse box may be on the left side of the trunk. Locate and remove fuse 6.
- Take out the key from the ignition and don’t turn on the car for at least 15 minutes.
