Customarily a male-dominated trade, auto repair in San Juan Capistrano and other areas is facing a sexual revolution now that more women are training to become car mechanics. In a report filed by Danner Evans of WSET-TV, surveys show that female customers tend to be charged more than male customers, especially when they show no knowledge of auto repair. Given the number of female drivers, that’s a lot of money made off a customer’s unfamiliarity.
